The Blue
Angels undertake a challenging mission each year, one
that calls for the highest degree of professionalism and
dedication. The squadron travels to dozens of cities—and
often to foreign countries—to perform for an estimated
15 million spectators during air shows annually.
Additionally, the Blue Angels visit more than 50,000
people a show season (March through November) at school
and hospital visits. Pilots and ground crew become the

of the
Navy and Marine Corps for everyone from VIPs to young
children who witness the squadron’s thrilling
performances. The mission of the Blue Angels is not only
to enhance Navy recruiting, but to represent Navy and
Marine Corps aviation to America and to other nations
around the world as international ambassadors of good
will. Through sixty years of service, the Blue Angels
deserve a hearty “well done” for a mission accomplished.
